Persimmon Tree Revisited

Sometimes you luck up and find a really good thing. The little raccoon at Gulf Islands National Seashore has found his good thing - a fully loaded persimmon tree. Again tonight, he was up in his tree looking for any luscious fruit he could find. It would seem that the persimmons wouldn't be ripe for the picking yet, but judging by the frequent visitor to the tree, something must be worth eating.

Another raccoon was spotted along the bayou road leading towards the visitor's center. He gave only a brief view as he eased back into the shadows under the wooden walkway.

Raccoons are such interesting and resourceful creatures and a joy to watch. Cruising is always glad to come upon one in the evening rides.
