Putting It To The Test
The National Park Service has apparently done an excellent job of purchasing dumpsters that will completely close. One dumpster, located on Boat Launch Road at Gulf Islands National Park, went through intensive testing last night. At last report, it was passing. A young raccoon refused to give up as he climbed over and around his large, blue container of dinner. The smell must have been mighty tempting, given his repeated efforts to gain access to the dumpster's contents. Ignoring the car lights of his audience, he would not be deterred in his endeavor. A wooden post, conveniently located next to the dumpster's side, gave him a good climbing spot allowing him to climb on top and test the upper section. Frustration drove him back down the post and, at last viewing, he was repeatedly circling looking for an opening. Cruising could sense the aggravation and does expect that the test continued on for some time after our departure.
